This month’s site of the month is www.jonsimon.co.uk
This attractive and fully responsive website manages to incorporate large, high quality images into its design without sacrificing load time.
The website is easy to navigate and uses transparency and subtle changes on the navigation menu to support this. The menu setup means the website can ensure all of the relevant information is easily accessible without making the site feel cluttered and detracting from the clean feel the company is striving for.
The property search feature is contained to a side tab, as is the booking valuation form, in order to reduce clutter on the main part of the page. The feature is well designed and includes all the usual parameters you would expect and integrates smoothly with a map search option.
The map search page also has its own built in filtering system which aids in your property search.
The website uses a palette of bold pinks offset against a white that is easy on the eye and blends perfectly with the features of the website. Using such a bold colour so extensively can easily end in a garish result but Jon Simon have managed to implement this design in a way that adds value to the site.
There is a lot going on with the website with pop ups, featured properties, roll overs and fade in/outs. Often designers look for excuses to add these in but in this case they all add to the feel and function of the website.
Overall this is a very well designed website and a lot of thought has been put into the branding, layout and content.
